Halloween traditions....

Last night we did some fun Halloween things. Made some Ghost cookies, Erica carved a pumpkin and I cooked up and roasted some pumpkin seeds....yummy:)

here are the recipes I use:
Roll out Sugar Cookies

(I usually double this)
¾ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 Eggs
½ teaspoon of Vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
1 Tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Chill 1 hour
Roll out and cut out in shapes of your choice
bake at 400 degrees 6-8 minutes
for the icing, I use confection sugar mixed with water, vanilla, and food coloring

Roasted Pumpkin seeds:

Rinse pumpkin seeds
make a single layer on a cookie sheet
melt 2 tsp butter and pour on top of seeds
bake at 300 degrees, for 45 minutes, mixing and stirring every 10-15 minutes.
MmMmmmmmm good stuff:)

I Love to make roll out cookies, (but they are messy:) the recipe is from my Aunt Donna, and I make them whenever I have a chance. Erica loves to cut them out and decorate them, its a lot of fun. We have so many cookie cutters to use that I have an entire drawer of them. I have some for every holiday.

Happy Halloween all...

God I love Halloween. We do not get any trick or treaters in my neighborhood, and every Halloween my hubby sits at the window, looking sad with the candy bowl. Our kids always trick-or-treat in their mom's neighborhood, so it's lonely around here.

You have got to stop by my page to see my Halloween blog. I worked on it forever tonight!!!!
